The springs do the lifting, not the motor
When springs lose tension, the opener takes the strain and wears out early. We check the balance and adjust the tension so neither works too hard.

Your door’s odometer
Cars get serviced by the kilometre. Garage doors count in cycles: one open, one close. The springs feel every one of them.
cycles so far
73% of a standard spring’s rated life
Past halfway on a standard spring. A service shows you how yours are holding up.
A service can’t add cycles to a spring. It tells you how close yours are to the end — before one snaps with the car inside.
Standard torsion springs are typically rated for about 10,000 cycles. Real life depends on the spring, the door and how it has been looked after. Springs already replaced? Count from then.
I had their technician, Marcus, come around to do a normal garage door service. He pointed out a badly worn cable and rusted springs which I agreed he should go ahead and replace. Job was completed with minimum disruption or noise. Can highly recommend SnapDoor's service.
Showed up on time (early) which is rare for a tradesman. Did the service, showed me what was done and what has to be done in the future - no upselling - and explained everything in an easy to understand manner.
Marcos did a great job of servicing my sectional garage door. Beforehand, it was making bangs, squeaks and creaks when operating. It is now whisper quiet.

Because most breakdowns give plenty of warning. A service is where we catch it.

A fraying cable, a cracked hinge or a worn roller gives months of warning. Caught at a service, it’s a planned fix, not a door stuck shut on a Monday morning.
Squeaks, bangs and rattles usually come from dry rollers and hinges or loose fittings. Lubricated and tightened, the door runs quiet again.
We recommend a service every 12 months.
What $160 covers
The same eight points as the drawing up top, on every door we service.
Service job card
From $160 per door, inc GST
We take the door off the motor and lift it by hand, to check the springs carry its weight.
Tension checked and adjusted, coils checked for rust and wear, then lubricated.
Checked for fraying and stretch, and that they wind neatly on the drums.
Lubricated, and checked for worn or cracked wheels — the usual source of grinding and rattles.
Lubricated, and checked for cracks and play between the panels.
Checked for alignment and damage, and lubricated so the rollers run true.
Every bolt, screw and bracket tightened, from the track brackets to the opener mount.
Force, travel limits and safety reverse tested, so the door stops and backs off if something is in the way.

Most breakdowns give months of warning — a spring losing tension, a cable starting to fray, a roller wearing flat. A service catches them while they are a small fix. We recommend one every 12 months.
We show you, explain why, and give you a price. Nothing is replaced without your OK. We carry common parts on the van, so most fixes are done in the same visit.
Usually, yes. Most noise comes from dry rollers and hinges or loose fittings, and the service lubricates and tightens all of them. If the noise is coming from the motor itself, we will tell you, and what a quieter opener would cost.
We service sectional, roller and tilt doors on homes and businesses, all makes and models, and the openers that drive them.
Same-day appointments are available, 7 days a week, across the Perth metro area. If the door is stuck or unsafe, call us — we answer 24/7.
